Questions about Tida
Plain answers about how Tida works, what it costs and where your tasks live.
Accounts, privacy and sync
Do I need an account to use Tida?
No. Tida has no sign-up and no account. You open it and start adding tasks. No account. No server. Sync through your own iCloud: when you turn sync on, your buckets and tasks travel between your devices through the iCloud you're already signed into, and Tida never sees them.
Where does Tida store my tasks?
On your device. With Tida Premium and sync turned on, they're also stored in your own iCloud, in a private area under your Apple ID that only Tida on your devices can read. There is no Tida server, so there is no copy anywhere else.
How does Tida sync between iPhone, iPad and Mac?
Through your own iCloud. Sign into the same Apple ID on each device and turn on iCloud sync in Tida's Settings; your buckets and tasks then stay the same everywhere. Every day Tida also compares each device with iCloud and quietly puts right anything that has drifted. Sync is part of Tida Premium.
Does Tida collect data, show ads or track me?
No. Tida has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Apple handles payment, and to confirm a subscription Tida uses RevenueCat, which receives a random anonymous identifier and your purchase status, and nothing about your tasks.
Can I use Tida without iCloud?
Yes. Without sync, everything stays on the device, and you can export it to a file at any time. iCloud is only needed to sync between devices or keep backups there.
Organising
What is a bucket?
A bucket is where tasks live in Tida, one for each part of your life: work, home, a trip, a project. Buckets sit on Tida's home screen as tiles or rows, each showing how much is done, what's due next and anything overdue. New tasks land in the Inbox until you sort them.
How many levels of subtasks does Tida support?
Eight. Swipe a task right to tuck it under the one above, and left to bring it back out. Paste an indented list into any bucket and the indentation becomes subtasks.
Can I type dates in plain words?
Yes. Type “gym tomorrow 7am” or “pay rent friday” and Tida sets the date and time from the words, with no picker needed.
Does Tida do repeating tasks, and can I skip one date?
Yes. A task can repeat daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or on a custom schedule, and you can skip a single date without changing the rest of the series.
What reminders can I set?
At the time a task is due, 10 minutes before, an hour before, the morning of (7 AM), or at a custom time. Reminders reach every device you use Tida on; to stop them on one, turn off Tida's notifications there.
Upcoming, widgets and Siri
Can Tida show my calendar next to my tasks?
Yes, with Tida Premium. Upcoming shows events from the calendars your device already has (Apple, Google, Exchange or a subscribed calendar) beside your dated tasks, as a list, a week or a month. You choose which calendars appear. Tida only reads them; it never adds, changes or deletes anything.
Can I check off tasks from a Home Screen widget?
Yes. Add a Tida widget for any bucket in small, medium or large; on iPhone and iPad the large size checks tasks off without opening the app. There's also an Upcoming widget for everything dated. Widgets are free.
Does Tida work with Siri?
On iPhone and iPad, yes. Say “Add to Tida” and speak your task to put it in your Inbox, or “What's coming up in Tida” to hear your next dated tasks. Both are also in the Shortcuts app. Siri doesn't work with Tida on the Mac yet.
Devices
Which devices does Tida run on?
iPhone and iPad on iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, and Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later) on macOS 14 or later. It's one download from the App Store, and Tida Premium works on all your devices on the same Apple ID; if a new device doesn't show it, tap Restore purchases in Settings.
Is there an Android, Windows, web or Apple Watch version?
No. Tida is for iPhone, iPad and Mac only.
Can I share a list with someone else?
No. Tida has no shared lists. Sync keeps your own devices in step through your iCloud; it doesn't share anything with other people.
Pricing
Is Tida free?
Tida is free to download, and the free plan doesn't expire. It includes your Inbox and one bucket of your own, Upcoming, reminders, widgets, Siri, six themes and export. Tida Premium is $2.99 a month or $23.99 a year (US prices), with a 7-day free trial offered once per Apple ID. It adds unlimited buckets, calendar events in Upcoming, sync across devices and iCloud backups.
Is there a one-time purchase?
No. Tida Premium is a subscription, monthly or yearly, managed in your Apple ID settings. The free plan keeps working without one.
What happens to my tasks if I cancel Tida Premium?
Nothing is deleted. Buckets beyond the free one become read-only: everything in them stays readable and exportable, and it all unlocks again if you resubscribe.
Your data
How do I back up or export my tasks?
Export everything to a file at any time, on any plan. On the Mac a save panel lets you choose where it goes; on iPhone and iPad you can save it to Files or share it with Send a copy. With Tida Premium you can also save backups in your own iCloud and restore one later; backups are taken only when you press the button.
How do I delete everything Tida holds?
Use Reset all data in Tida's Settings, or delete the app. To remove Tida's data from iCloud, delete your backups in Tida and remove Tida under your Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage. Tida's developer holds no copy, so there's nothing to delete on that side.
